Henriette (Jet) Siemons explores the interweaving of family archives, language, folklore, and nature through personal and collective journeys. Her work focuses on how stories, myths, and memories endure across time and place, particularly through oral histories and hidden genealogies.

Using photography, maps, found objects, archival material, and text, she creates interactive installations that invite viewers into these explorations. Her projects often take the form of quests: tracing spirits and legends like the Witte Wieven in the Dutch landscape, uncovering her Sardinian heritage through family tales and local folklore, or delving into the lives of strangers through forgotten photo albums. These journeys raise questions about what we inherit : not only bloodlines, but also lost languages, inaccessible histories, and truths that blur the line between fact and myth.

By combining archival research, immersive fieldwork, and storytelling, Jet builds spaces where memory, myth, and nature converge. Her work invites reflection on how identity is shaped by both personal memory and collective history , especially through the voices and experiences of women, and how these narratives continue to echo in the present.

Since graduating from the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague in 2023, Jet has continued to navigate the space between the visible and invisible, the rational and the mysterious, inviting audiences to look beneath the surface of what we think we know.
