The Invisible Women 

What started with the search for the Dutch myth of the witte wieven, grew over time into a bigger collection of stories behind female ghosts, now also across the borders of the Netherlands. France, Norway, Italy and Belgium showed me the landscapes of their myths about ghostly women, often to be found in forests, castles, and abbeys. What is the story behind these women, who were they and what is there still to be found about them at the places they lived?

As they are literally about to lose their appearance, fading in time, I see power in the ghost-like form history seems to have given them, as a silent form of protest.
